Terms of Service
Effective Date: November 1, 2026
1. Acceptance
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Datasiq governing use of datasiq.com and the Datasiq platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy. If using on behalf of a business, you confirm authority to bind that business.
If you and Datasiq have signed an order form (a written order or agreement for a specific service, such as a dedicated environment), it forms part of these Terms, and where it conflicts with these Terms, the order form prevails for that service.
2. Description of Service
Datasiq provides:
- Sources — integration with databases, files, and business tools as data sources
- Findings — automated detection of data quality issues (duplicates, missing values, inconsistent formats)
- Benchmark — comparison of your data quality scores with stored reference ranges for your industry (not data from other customers)
- Ask Nyksen — AI-powered plain-English questions about your sources’ quality, and plain-English queries over a sample of files you upload
- Document generation — invoice and quality report PDFs with brand templating
3. How the Service Is Delivered
- Shared service (available today). The Service at datasiq.com, run by Datasiq on infrastructure shared between customers, with each organisation's records kept separate.
- Dedicated environment (only where an order form provides for one). A private, single-customer Datasiq environment that Datasiq runs in Datasiq's own cloud account, on the cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud) and in the region named in your order form.
- Connector (only where an order form provides for one). A small program that Datasiq deploys and operates next to your databases, in the location you approve, so that your Datasiq environment can check them (section 9).
Whichever you use, you access the Service only through the Datasiq web application. Datasiq operates the Service, including the connector: you do not receive, install, upgrade or operate Datasiq software, nothing in these Terms permits you to run it yourself, and Datasiq does not provide on-premise, locally installed or offline versions of the Service. Dedicated environments and the connector are under development and are not yet available; when they are, they will be provided only where an order form provides for them.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering contracts under Indian law. You agree to provide accurate registration information and maintain account confidentiality.
5. Subscription Plans & Billing
Datasiq offers paid plans (Pro, Team, Business and Ultra) at the monthly prices shown on the Plans and pricing page, excluding tax, and a 14-day trial that needs no card. Plans cannot yet be bought in the app: a plan is set up on request and invoiced. The refund policy and in-app billing terms will be published before in-app billing starts. If you have an early-access account, you will be told at least 30 days ahead, by email and in the app, before anything about it changes, and you will not be charged anything without being told first. If you chose a plan before the current plans were published, you keep that plan at its own price and limits.
If your order form provides for a dedicated environment, its fees are set out in the order form, and will include the cost of the cloud resources your environment uses plus Datasiq's fee.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the platform for unlawful purposes.
- Upload or connect data you have no right to share.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the platform, except to the extent section 52(1)(aa) to (ac) of the Copyright Act, 1957 or other applicable law permits it despite this restriction.
- Use the Service, its outputs, or the queries and operations it runs in your systems to build, train or benchmark a competing product or service.
- Share your access with, or run the Service for, anyone outside your organisation, except as your order form allows.
- Use automated scripts to scrape data.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Upload malware or malicious code.
- Interfere with platform integrity.
Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund.
7. Your Data & Intellectual Property
You retain full ownership of your data — the data you upload, and the data in the sources you connect. You grant Datasiq a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you. We do not use your data to train AI models or share it beyond what is described in the Privacy Policy.
Processing on your behalf. For personal data in data you upload or connect, Datasiq acts as your Data Processor and will: process it only to provide the Service under these Terms, your order form and your documented instructions; keep it confidential and protect it with the measures described in our Privacy Policy; use only the service providers listed there, and update that list before adding a new one; tell you without undue delay of a personal data breach affecting it, and help you meet your own obligations; help you respond to requests from the individuals it concerns; and delete it at the end of the Service as section 16 says.
8. Datasiq Intellectual Property & Your Licence
The Service, its software (including the connector), its checks, scoring and detection methods and models, algorithms, designs and trademarks, and all improvements Datasiq makes to any of them, are owned by Datasiq. Nothing in these Terms gives Datasiq ownership of your data, your own models or your own systems. Except as these Terms expressly permit or as applicable law permits despite this restriction, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without written consent. If you give us suggestions or feedback about the Service, you grant Datasiq a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to use them for any purpose.
Subject to these Terms, Datasiq grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable right to access and use the Service through the web application, for your internal business purposes, while your account or order form is in effect. This is a right of access only: except for the code your browser runs to display the web application, which you may use only to access the Service, Datasiq does not provide you with any copy of its software, including where you have a dedicated environment or the connector, which Datasiq alone operates.
9. The Connector
This section applies only if your order form provides for the connector. The connector is under development and is not yet available.
- Deployment and operation: you permit Datasiq to deploy, operate, update and remove the connector in the location you approve (for example inside your network, next to your databases), and you provide the infrastructure and outbound network access agreed in your order form. You do not install, run, upgrade or operate the connector; Datasiq does.
- Ownership and confidentiality: the connector remains Datasiq's property and confidential information (section 12). Having it deployed in your environment gives you no licence or other right to it beyond receiving the Service.
- Restrictions: you must not access the connector's internals, copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or interfere with its operation, except to the extent that section 52(1)(aa) to (ac) of the Copyright Act, 1957 or other applicable law permits it despite this restriction. Before doing anything for interoperability, you will first ask Datasiq for the interface information, which Datasiq will provide on reasonable terms.
- Open-source components: parts of the connector may be open-source software licensed under their own licences, which Datasiq will list with the connector; for those parts, those licences prevail over this section.
- How it works: the connector reaches only the databases you choose, makes outbound encrypted connections only, performs only a fixed set of operations, keeps your database credentials in the location you approve, and refuses an operation it cannot confirm is permitted. The first version is read-only.
- Updates: Datasiq updates the connector, automatically or with your approval where your order form says so. Datasiq may apply an update without waiting for approval where it is needed for security or to keep working with the Service.
- On termination: Datasiq removes the connector, and you give Datasiq the access it needs to do so.
- Direct connections: where your order form provides for it, Datasiq may connect to Snowflake or Google BigQuery directly instead of through the connector.
10. AI Features & AI-Generated Outputs
On the shared service, AI features use Claude, provided by Anthropic. Choosing your own AI provider, and switching AI features off, are being built and are not yet available on the shared service. Where your order form provides for it, you may instead choose the AI service in your own cloud account (such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry or Google Vertex AI) or another model you connect by API. If you do, that provider processes the data sent to it under your own agreement with it; you are responsible for complying with its terms, and Datasiq is not responsible for that provider's service. If your order form provides for a dedicated environment, AI features in it are off until you choose a provider. Datasiq will not switch your AI requests to a different provider without your choice.
AI outputs are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, legal, or professional advice. Outputs may contain errors — always verify critical decisions independently. You assume full responsibility for decisions made based on AI-generated content.
11. Your Responsibilities
- Your databases, data sources and the infrastructure you provide for the connector, including their security, backups and availability.
- The credentials you give us or provide for the connector: give only the access needed (we recommend credentials limited to reading), keep them secure, and change them if you believe they are compromised.
- Having the right, and any notice or consent the law requires, to let the Service process the data in the sources you connect, including personal data.
- The terms of any third-party AI provider or cloud service you choose to use with the Service.
- Your users’ compliance with these Terms.
12. Confidentiality
Each party will keep confidential the other's non-public information that it receives in connection with the Service, use it only to perform or receive the Service, and protect it with at least reasonable care. Your data is your confidential information. The Service's software (including the connector), documentation, and non-public details of how the Service works are Datasiq's confidential information, including the queries, operations and checks that the Service or the connector runs in your systems, as they appear in your systems' logs. This does not apply to information that is or becomes public through no fault of the receiving party, was already lawfully known to it, or is independently developed; and either party may disclose information where the law requires it. These duties continue after termination.
13. Data Security & Availability
We protect your data with the security measures described in our Privacy Policy. We work to keep the Service available but, unless your order form states otherwise, we do not offer an uptime commitment. We will notify you of data breaches as required by applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
14. Limitation of Liability
Maximum liability: total fees paid in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of profits or data, or damages from reliance on AI outputs.
15. Indemnification
You indemnify Datasiq against claims arising from your violation of these Terms, your lack of rights to the data you upload or connect, or your violation of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by Datasiq's breach of these Terms.
16. Termination
You may close your account from settings or by contacting us. Datasiq may suspend for breach or fraud. Personal and business data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy (section 11), or as your order form provides. If you have a dedicated environment, it is shut down and its data deleted in the same way, and Datasiq removes the connector (section 9). Your licence to use the Service ends on termination.
17. Modifications to Service
30 days notice for changes except emergency security measures.
18. Governing Law & Disputes
Governed by Indian law. Exclusive jurisdiction: courts in Hyderabad, Telangana. 30-day good-faith negotiation required before legal proceedings. Unresolved disputes referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
19. Grievance Redressal
For any complaint or grievance related to the Service or these Terms, contact:
